FAQ

1. Do I have to create my own curriculum and learning materials? 

No. Once you have applied, Global Connect will provide you all curriculum you will need to review with participants in your class session. Curriculum is very straight forward and can be reviewed prior to your scheduled class. 

2. What day and time are classes held?

Classes are held Tuesday - Thursday at 7:00 am (MT, U.S) / 4:00 pm (EET, Athens)

Once you have completed the application, you will receive an email from the Global Connect team to coordinate your schedule and instruction dates as well as provide outlined curriculum and other relevant program details

3. What is the time commitment required? 

• Time commitment is flexible and up to each volunteer 

• Minimum Requirement - Single class (1 time for 1 hour)

• Maximum Opportunit(ies) 

  •  Subject chapter (3 days/week for 1 week) 

  • Entire subject (3 days/week for 1 month) 

4. What qualifications do I need to have (if any) to be an instructor? 

• General understanding of subject being taught, (view sample GED questions in each subject here)

• Proficient in the English language with an ability to explain concepts to English as a Second Language participants 

5. Do I need to speak another language? 

No. Proficient English speaking required 

6. What type of technology do we use to communicate?

Global Connect uses the following technologies 

• Google Meet 

• Slack (not required, encouraged for long-term volunteers)
